Bengaluru, 26 June

Days after Bengaluru techie Shwetha, 25, was arrested for allegedly killing her parents and younger sister, her live-in partner and co-accused, Kenneth, was traced and detained in Puducherry on Friday.

According to police, Shwetha allegedly carried out the murders in connivance with Kenneth on Monday night at an apartment in Seegehalli under K R Puram Police Station limits. Victims Somasundar, 52, his wife Muthulaxmi, 48, and their younger daughter Supriya, 19, were found stabbed to death.

Kenneth had reportedly taken shelter in beach shacks in Puducherry to avoid detection before being traced and arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed Shwetha had been living with Kenneth for two months, and investigators suspect the family disapproved of the relationship, which may have triggered the murders.

Police said the victims had visited the couple’s flat on Monday evening, where an argument allegedly broke out, and all three were stabbed multiple times. A joint interrogation of both accused is expected to establish the precise sequence of events and motive.

Further investigation is underway.
